Horatio, at entry, is stripped of a megacycle (CPU power cycle) and the 'Gospel of Man', deemed a subversive literature that is tossed into the city's underground, the Underworks. Horatio and Crispin attempt to use the bomb's energy core to power U.N.N.I.I.C back up, but it proves fruitless.Īttempting to chase the stealing robot, Horatio and Crispin are ultimately led to Metropol, that is revealed as a dilapidated metropolis filled with robots governed in an iron hand by MetroMind, the city's AI previously in charge of subways and transit. They also come across and pass through the tests of faith of a sentry drone Ever-Faithful Leobuilt, who tests Horatio's knowledge of the 'Gospel of Man' (A robotic interpretation of the Holy Bible but instead of a metaphysical one, the human race are the creator gods in the robots version), allowing him to grab a bomb that the drone revered as a shrine. Navigating the wasteland close to U.N.N.I.I.C, Horatio and Crispin come across and reactivate a buried, gigantic robotic war machine named Goliath, who tells Horatio his true name is Horus, claiming it was an ancient enemy of his, and thus won't surrender its power core. Crispin suggests they head to the legendary city of Metropol, a "city of glass and eternal light", for a new core, but Horatio remains adamant in either reclaiming the stolen core or finding a new one in the wasteland, totally preferring to stay away from Metropol for his pre-programmed hatred of the city, that he can't discern why.

In this way a continuous system of lymph truncs is formed that opens into the venous system at the jugulo-subclavian confluence.In a post-apocalyptic world, android Horatio Nullbuilt (Logan Cunningham) and his floating robot companion Crispin (Abe Goldfarb) inhabit and attempt to rebuild U.N.N.I.I.C, a derelict airship stranded in a vast desert. One night, a heavy, floating, square-like robot invades the airship, incapacitates Horatio with its laser and steals the airship's power core.
They invade the surrounding tissues and, in part, fuse with similar sprouts of adjacent primordia. From the primordia extensions grow out centrifugally. Except for some openings at the jugulo-subclavian confluence all connections with the veins disappear. bilaterally: (1) the jugulo-axillary lymph sac situated lateral to the anterior cardinal vein and dorsal to the primitive ulnar vein and its major branch, the external mammary vein, (2) the paratracheal lymph plexus situated medial to the anterior cardinal vein, (3) the internal thoracic lymph plexus situated lateral to the thoracic part of the posterior cardinal vein, (4) the thoracic ducts situated medial to the thoracic part of the posterior cardinal vein, (5) the lumbar lymph plexus situated dorso-lateral to the abdominal part of the posterior cardinal vein, (6) the subcardinal lymph plexus and (7) the iliac lymph plexus situated ventro-lateral to the abdominal part of the posterior cardinal vein and in the median line: (8) the subtracheal lymph plexus situated at the confluence of the pulmonary veins and (9) the mesenteric lymph plexus situated near the confluence of the splenic and the superior mesenteric veins. After the constituents of each group of early primordia have fused, 16 isolated lymphatic plexuses (sacs) are formed of which 14 are in bilaterally symmetric and 2 are in a median line position: i.e.
PRIMORDIA ENDINGS SERIES
As a result of differences in growth rates of adjacent anatomical structures this series of early lymphatic primordia becomes subdivided into 4 singular primordia and 12 groups of primordia. During the first stage of its development the system is represented by a more or less regular series of small and blind-ending outgrowths of the major embryonic veins which develop in a cranio-caudalward direction from the jugular to the pelvic region. The early development of the lymphatic system was studied in embryos of an inbred strain of the laboratory mouse.
